Hillside No.3 2019
A very late harvested ‘third pass’ pick of our Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays from right across our south-facing vineyard parcels. Soft, creamy texture with lemon curd, mandarin, cherry and delicate pineapple notes on the palate.
“Much more recognisably champagne-like than the Preambles. Really sophisticated. Good grip on the palate and a dry but not drying finish. Long. Good mousse.” – Jancis Robinson 2022 (www.jancisrobinson.com)
2018 Zero Dosage & Illustration No.1
Our latest release – a beautiful ‘first-pass’ selection of only the very ripest grapes from our Pinot Noir and Chardonnays, looking to maximise the acidity from a warm vintage, with long aging in mind. With 40 months on the lees, fermentation in wood, and a partial-malo this is a unique sparkling finished in both zero dosage and extra brut form. Notes of yellow plums and apricots, ripe red apple skins and raspberries, with a salinity and touches of baking spices on the finish.
Blanc de Blancs 2018
This single parcel wine showcases the exceptional Chardonnay grown in our Hill Top vineyard from the outstanding 2018 vintage. Perhaps a more delicate and intricate sparkling than its 2017 predecessor, the rich citrus and yuzu notes are all in place today and will undoubtedly evolve beautifully for decades to come.
“Greenish straw. Broad and more oak influence than tartness, though the finish is bone dry. Saline and complex. Excellent in my glass! This would be good with oysters” – Jancis Robinson 2022 (www.jancisrobinson.com)
2018 Preamble No.2
Just released, the long awaited 2018 successor to the hugely successful 2017 vintage wine of the same name, recommended by Jancis Robinson in the FT as one of her Christmas selections.
With a soft, luxuriant mousse, the stone fruits on the palate of the 2018 are beautifully ripe with an underlying, bright mouth-watering acidity and hints of almond patisserie. The chalky texture of this wine is almost satiny, leading to a long, persistent finish that captures a zesty, creamy tangerine note. This is a wine that captures in the glass all of the complex flavours and aromas we seek in the vineyard on the final days of harvest. Drink 2022-2026.
Blanc de Noirs 2019
A single parcel, all Pinot Noir, sparkling from our south facing Hillside vineyard. The long, dry 2019 vintage allowed grapes to be harvested with over 110 days on the vine. Rich, macerated summer berries and spices shine through with ripe nectarines and peaches on the long finish.
“Fairly rich nose. Really mouth-filling. Round and orangey and super-clean. Complete. Very much a gastro-wine. Just lovely already and reaches every nook and cranny on the palate.”
– Jancis Robinson 2022 (www.jancisrobinson.com)
